We also do modern kids of renders such as Silicone Thin Coat, Silicone Scarped TextureWhere and how we use lime mortars
Lime plastering can be applied on different surfaces such as brickwork, wooden lathes (with or without horse hair) and wood fibre boards for insulation depending on the surface.
Lime rendering can be applied on different surfaces such as masonry, brickwork and wooden lathes (with hemp or cork to insulate the external walls)
We apply three coats of lime plaster. Lime render for the first coat with scratching coat, second coat with devil floating and a finish coat either with texture or smooth. Each coat needs two weeks to cure before applying the next coat with a different ratio of materials.
As well as “off the shelf “and “standard mortars”, where required, we can produce our own mortars to match the specific requirements of an application.
We specialise in traditional internal lime plastering and external lime rendering.
We hold qualifications and are very experienced in plastering and rendering, specialising in listed and historical period properties.
